Privacy
Last updated June 2026.
JustListen is built to need as little of your information as possible. Here is exactly what that means in plain English.
No account
There is no sign up, no login, and no email. You do not create an account to use JustListen, so there is no profile to store.
Your text
When you press play, the text you entered is sent to a voice service to generate the audio for that one request. It is not saved on our server afterward and it is not used for anything other than making your audio. We do not keep a copy of what you typed.
The tool itself does not track you
JustListen the tool does not run its own analytics, and it does not build a profile of you or sell your data. Your text is used only to make the audio, as described above.
Advertising
To keep JustListen free, the site may show ads. When ads are enabled, the site uses Google AdSense, and AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to serve and personalize ads and to measure their performance. This is the one case where a third party is involved. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, Google's advertising practices at policies.google.com/technologies/ads, and Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. If ads are not enabled, none of this applies and no ad cookies are set.
Your consent choice
When ads are enabled, the first time you visit you are asked to accept or decline ads. The AdSense script does not load until you accept. If you decline, no ad script loads and no ad cookies are set, and you can keep using JustListen exactly the same. Your choice is remembered in your browser. Note for visitors in the EEA and UK: this banner is a basic consent gate, and full compliance there relies on a Google certified consent platform, which the operator should add before serving ads in those regions.
Cookies
A single anonymous cookie may be set to help with rate limiting, which protects the free service from abuse. It holds a random identifier only. It is not tied to your name, your email, or any personal detail, and it is not used for advertising. Separately, if you accept ads, Google AdSense sets its own cookies as described above.
The voice backend
The neural voices are generated through Microsoft Edge neural voices reached over the network. Producing your audio means your text passes through that service for the moment it takes to synthesize the sound. If that backend is unavailable, JustListen can fall back to a voice built into your own browser, in which case the text never leaves your device.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated date above will change with it. The spirit will not: collect as little as possible, store as little as possible, and keep the tool itself free of tracking. Where ads are shown, they come from Google AdSense as described above.
